UPDATE! Fitz Returns to the Office ---pix->>>
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 01:05 PM by Stephanie

It was a coffee run.

Fitzie, honey, I need you to eat a little something. Keep your strength up.

Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald returns to his office in Washington, DC October 27, 2005. With the fate of at least two top White House advisers hanging in his balance, Fitzgerald appeared set to announce his decision on Friday on criminal charges over the outing of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame, lawyers said. Fitzgerald has zeroed in on Lewis Libby, chief of staff for U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, and Karl Rove, Bush's top political adviser. REUTERS/Micah Walter

56. Liam Neeson
Fitz is 6'2" or something like that ~ and so is Liam. Fitz was a rugby player ~ saw some pictures of him when he was in College and he was very handsome in his rugby gear. Wish I could find them online. They were on tv.

The guy seems impervious to all the media attention he's getting. And he's likely to get it for a long time to come if he is the prosecutor of the cases he charges. I doubt he'll like that very much. I hope he never, ever gives an interview to the media the way that sleaze, Starr did.

78. I saw them on one of the MSNBC
shows and I just did a search and found this on Keith Olbermann's site. They had a video clip which showed Fitz as a rugby player (still shots as I recall). It was a sort of short bio ~ but there's not link to the clip here. Maybe someone else can figure out to get it. Anyway, I think this is where I saw it origninally.

Scroll about halfway down the page to where they are discussing him:

First, as widely observed, the special prosecutor, Mr. Fitzgerald, is of a rare and threatening species in Washington, the bureaucrat who does not leak. Who is this man? And if he does not leak, how did he get so far in his line of work?

MSNBC‘s chief correspondent in Washington, Norah O‘Donnell, can at least answer the first of those questions for us.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

NORAH O‘DONNELL, MSNBC CHIEF WASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT (voice-over):

Patrick Fitzgerald has been called the toughest prosecutor in America, a bulldog as relentless as he is brilliant.

Where it says 'video clip', I think that's the bio, but on Keith's site, it's not a link. Maybe on the MSNBC site for that date, they might have the link? He sure was handsome, and just as focused, but with lots of hair in that picture.

Are you talking about the bio Keith did last week on Countdown? If that's the one, I actually taped it because I was busy at the time and wanted to watch it later. Think I still have it, and will have to check to see if there is a still photo of him in his rugby outfit. I'll let you guys know. :hi:

Yes, I think so, and also they played the same clip on the Abrams Show. I posted a link to that below also, but still no link to the video.

If you taped it, that's great!! Can you post a still pic from a video? If so, I think you'll be the most popular girl on DU!!

52. Steph, I really enjoy your threads.
Thanks for keeping us posted! Which may sound sarcastic but at this point all we've got is posting about when he goes out for coffee so I'll take it!

73. OMG!!! I almost know him!!!!!!
I just found out from my sister that my brother's sister-in-law works for Fitz in Chicago!!! She's an assistant D.A. in his office. Unfortunately, my brother and I don't have much of a relationship anymore. And I barely know his wife's family. Crap! No way to get info or "special pics".

I'll be ok.

76. Um, could you ask your sister to ask your brother to ask his sister-in-law
to give Fitz my number? :)

Here's another show, The Abrams Show, that ran the clip of Fitz's bio. But again, there's no link.

The more I read the more I like him ~ mmm, he likes to 'play rough'!! Ooooh, that could fun!

O'DONNELL: Fitzgerald is 6 foot, 200-pound rugby enthusiast, likes to play rough. And his career shows he likes to tackle big-name targets. First making his name by jailing mobster John Gambino in 1994.

JAMES COMEY, FMR. DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL: I once told a Chicago newspaper that Pat Fitzgerald was Eliot Ness with a Harvard law degree and a sense of humor.

Wonder if we emailed MSNBC and asked them for a link, would they send it? Or maybe ask Keith to post a ink on his site, or to play it again.
