My LTTE on the Frist snit.
I know the Richmond paper won't publish this. So I'm going to ventilate and sing to the choir - my DU buddies - to let you know how I feel about the "stunt" speech by Bill Frist.

Editor, The Richmond Times-Dispatch,

From earliest school years American children are taught that truth, and the recognition of the inherent worth of truth, are cornerstones of our democracy. It is, in essence, the universal moral quality that defines civilization as we know it. So, to watch Sen. Frist characterize the efforts of his fellow senators of both parties as a “stunt,” when they seek to find the truth about intelligence leading up to the war in Iraq, is shocking and disgraceful. It beckons the image of an angry, disdainful Caesar gathering up his toga so it won’t be soiled by the commoners in the forum. It reeks of arrogance carried to the extreme. One has to wonder if Sen. Frist has abandoned the notion of “public servant” and replaced it with “entitled aristocrat.”

Sincerely,
Charles B. Miller

1. good letter, you should send it. Frist also said
he "can't trust" Harry Reid anymore because of Reid's "stunt." LOL, Frist who's being investigated by the SEC for insider trading can't trust Harry Reid. LMAO

4. This cracked me up.
For the next year and a half, Frist "can't trust" Reid!!!

I wonder if it will ever dawn on Frist how completely absurd that little spluttering snit was. And the Pubs are screaming they were going to resume the investigation "next week" -- after a year of doing nothing? right.

2. Backbackbackbackbackbackback . . . gone!
Home run for VaYallaDawg!

Good letter. Tightly focused. One subject. Nice classical reference. Maybe the Times-Dispatch won't run it, but you never know. They just might need a short little one to fill out a column.

9. By all means send it.
An excellent letter worthy of printing. If the Times-Dispatch doesn't print it send it to a competitor and explain.

10. Great letter
This is a great letter and the Times-Dispatch might print it. My father and sister (true dems, both of them) send letters to Charlottesville's Daily Progress, which is owned by the Times-Dispatch and they get published.

11. I think the truth is this:
The Dems did something wholly allowed.

Frist (and friends) acting shocked is the real "stunt" - aimed to make the Dems look like they're out of control - for using a proper procedure in the Senate - unlike trying to arrest someone because they actually want to read the legislation they would be voting on.
