Bill Olielly on Yesterdays election
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,175031,00.html

We hope you all got out to vote today in your state and local races. We usually stay out of those because you know your turf better than we do. But in California, there's a ballot measure that may affect your life wherever you live.

First the background. As you may know, the far left in America is increasingly well funded by billionaires like George Soros and Peter Lewis. Their money has bought them power on the Internet and in political races. The elite media is often simpatico with the far left agenda, giving it even more traction.

22. We have a long, long ways to go to catch up to them
The Waltons giving to RW causes each year monetarily dwarfs what Soros did last year for MoveOn, ACT, etc. If I'm not mistaken, they give at least $100 million a year to RW causes. What did Soros do - $35 million?

and, that doesn't count Scaife, Olin, Murdoch, Coors, etc.

Supposedly, it's been $2.5 to $3.5 billion in the last 30 years.

29. Is Soros a pauper yet? The way Falafel gives his money away;
I wouldn't think that he has much left.

I live in Livonia but grew up in Detroit. It was a great place to grow up then. But it sure needs help now. Great memories.

23. What an awesome website.
I grew up in NW Detroit. Went to Cooley High before it got bad. We're the same age. I loved downtown. Remember when the Tigers wond the world series? I went downtown to Kennedy Square. Amazing. Someone recently gave me some Sanders caramel topping. Thought I died and went to heaven.

28. You're talking 1968, not 1984, I assume.
Both years great. But I don't remember 1968, not that much. Let's see: Except Denny won his 30th on my 17th birthday in 1968. Al Kaline, Gates Brown, Willie Horton, Mickey Lolich (kisses), Earl Wilson, Ray Oyler, Stormin' Norman, Dick McAuliffe, Bill Freehan, Mickey Stanley, Joe Sparma, Jim Northrup, Mayo Smith.

The song? We're all behind our baseball team, Go Get 'Em, Tigers! World Series bound and pickin'up steam. Go Get 'Em, Tigers! There'll be joy in TigerTown, we'll sing this song, when the Tigers bring the pennant back to where it belongs. We're all behind our baseball team, Go Get 'Em, Detroit Tigers, Go Get 'Em Tigers!!!

(Haven't thought of that song for 30 years, but that particular brain cell was apparently still intact. Thanks).

It is fantastic and I do remember many of the things in Detroit. I am 42 right now, so I can relate to many of the places that are listed. I am going to pass this site on to friends. It sure is a great city. Thanks again!

there's shill, always blaming the elite media. Just a curious note: What does George Soros have to do with Prop 73?
In addition, his article states that this will spread. To where? California is hardly a bellweather state for the south, the Rocky Mountain States or the Plains states.

15. If the left were as well financed and organized as ol' Bill says it is,
we'd be able to kick his sorry ass off the air. Or at least give him so much competition that there would be no one left to listen to or finance his bullshit.

Personally, I'll settle for leaving him and his kind out their, able to broadcast and publish their childish whines and ridiculous lies for an ever-shrinking audience.

20. It is a compliment
The left is better organized and better funded and better connected through the internet than a year ago. His criticism is acknowledgement of the efforts of the grassroots, DU and the internet, AAR etc. Yup, we've got some momentum!

They are the most popular "news" (well, actually it's entertainment, but for arguments sake) station and they are the one and only undeniably dramatic and deliberately partisan "news" outlet in existence. And they are supported by trillionaire businesses, not measly billionaires. That O'Liely cocksucker is a piece of work - I'd break his kneecaps in a heartbeat given the chance. He's a treasonous assaulter of our freedom in this country and he deserves to be punished.

32. The term "elite media" always slays me
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 09:32 AM by neebob
B.O. is the only one I've ever heard using it, although that could be because he's the only one I don't just automatically change the channel on as soon as his face or voice registers in my conscious mind. He interests me a little more than the others for some reason that has to with my mild-mannered Mo-mom (who didn't used to like loud, overbearing, pretentious egomaniacs) adoring him. Her falling for Hannity's TV persona somehow seems a little more comprehensible, I guess, and Limblab isn't on my TV so he's not an issue.

So I've watched B.O. for a total of maybe ten minutes in a year, and I've heard him say "elite media" half a dozen times. I think he's doing some weird, subliminal reverse-programming thing to get the Foxfans to think of him as elite. Why anyone buys his act is a complete mystery to me.
