MSM Has Pre- Picked Hillary: Who Emerges Now As The Populist Alternative?
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 08:26 PM by ruggerson
One candidate will probably emerge in 06 and 07 as the people's choice vs. Hillary, the media's choice.

Clinton was it in 1992.

Dean was it in 04, until the media destroyed him.

Who is positioned to be the populist in 08?

1. The MSM has nothing to do with my choice.
They don't get to pick our candidate at all. We the people do.

But I didn't answer your question. I have no idea, sorry! I've got to see who's in the primary first!

2. One of the reasons there was radical political activism
in the 1960's was the fact pro-war Dems ran the party (until 1968), Dems like Hilary. Actually LBJ was better than Hillary ever will be on many issues such as the Great Society programs. We have been so numbed by the spider sting of the MSM that we are mesmerized by their choices and not ours.

Damn, that should be repeated often until it sinks in for every single person.

4. Quite likely Mark Warner
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 08:32 PM by Rowdyboy
Possibly John Edwards. Much as I like Clark, I think he may be too closely tied to the Clintons to be the "anti-Hillary".

I'd go with Warner as the ABC candidate.

9. Media always pick the name they're familiar with.
That person almost never gets it, unless they're the incumbent or the current v.p.

14. Increasingly, it seems to me, Al Gore
The more we go on, the more horrible things we hear, the more the public suffers "buyer's remorse" over Bush, the more I think the mind goes back to how this whole mess got started.
The 2000 election.
I know he said he won't run so it's a moot point but, if I believed in astrology, I'd say the stars are almost aligned for him to return to the Presidency he should have had in 2000.
The Bush incompetancy I think pushes voters to want the opposite. Someone who is seen as competant and Gore is seen as such.

15. Who was the media's choice if Dean was the alternative?
I thought he was the frontrunner until somebody cast a vote. How could he be the alternative AND the frontrunner?
