The Media Cavalry is On the Way!
http://www.iwtnews.com/

Coming soon.

I know this is not new information for many, but for some it might be. I am waiting breathlessly for them. There is a void that needs to be filled and its called NEWS. I logged onto this site today and was extremely pleased to see that they have started posting stories as opposed to just being the intro site for the concept (a news media that is financed only by independent contributions - free from corporate or government influence, staffed and backed by some the greatest journalists in the world). So, I am now going to add them to my daily lineup along with DU, Kos, Huffington, Raw Story, Truthout, etc. Please support them and donate as well if you're able to. (I have no involvement with them other than being a passionate bystander)

One last point. I want news that goes wherever the story takes it. I am not looking for a liberal or left wing echo chamber. These guys seem to remember the concept of JOURNALISM. With any luck, these folks can overcome the Russerts and Mathews and O'Reiley's and Hannities and CNN Barbies and Kens and force them into the dustbins of media history where they will be studied as the vaudeville acts they truly are.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE
words and music by Pete Seeger
performed by Pete Seeger and Tao Rodriguez-Seeger

Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Girls have picked them every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young girls gone?
Taken husbands every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the young men gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young men gone?
Gone for soldiers every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Covered with flowers every one
When will we ever learn?
When will we ever learn?

6. No and you make me think of a shortcoming of my own
I typically read: latest, greatest, general discussion, and political discussion. Every once in a great while I poke my nose in the lounge, but I think it's too sophisticated, in-jokey and cliquey for me (no critque there - loungers! I felt the same way in my eighth grade gym class and my lack of advancement is no reflection on you).

I know there is probably in-depth discussion in a lot of specific forums that I have never availed myself of. Damn! Being truly informed would take at least 20 hours out of every day.
