1. Huh? Can someone explain this "logic"
"The Western Shoshone National Council says the 1863 Treaty of Ruby Valley doesn't allow nuclear waste on tribal lands. They filed a lawsuit seeking to stop development of the dumb.

But a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Shoshones, citing the federal government's sovereign immunity. The judge also said the case is premature because the dump still hasn't been completed.

So, the judge is saying that we should wait until after it is complete to determine if they shouldn't have built it?

2. Damn, what a shame,
That might be the last best chance for stopping this Yucca Mt. debacle. Sitting on a major fault line, in an active volcanic area(7 active volcanoes in the immediate area), Yucca Mt. is just a nuclear disaster waiting to happen. In addition geologists have done dye tests on the Yucca Mt. repository. The dye that they inserted showed up in the Las Vegas water supply within two weeks.

If I were living anywhere close to Yucca Mt. I would leave now while I could. Sooner or later there is going to be major problems with the site, and you don't want to be around when that happens.

they stack the deck with sly appropriations to prepare the infrastructure with roads and railroads to transport the waste and assaults on land rights intensifying . . .

The best place to oppose this outside of Nevada is through objections to the transport routes which intend to snake through countless major cities and townships all over America carrying hazardous radioactive waste to Yucca. Also, the fight is still mainly political with all of the inituitives hidden in the Energy and Water appropriations and the Interior bills.

The Yucca site is certainly the worst that could have been chosen, but they have invested so much in the infrastructure there that it has become it's own government sponsored industry.

5. Thank you for the links
I just saw this in LBN. It's beyond disgusting, and I wanted to educate myself on this issue a little more.
