"The Weather Channel Brings in Lewis Black"
NEW YORK (AP) - The Weather Channel forecast: a high-pressure system of comedy.

The cable channel will feature Lewis Black - known for his rants on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" - in a handful of segments starting Wednesday night.

He's the first in what the Weather Channel hopes is a series of celebrity guests.

"We're going to try a few segments to spice things up a little bit," said Terry Connelly, the network's senior vice president and general manager.

1. Wow! Great news!
My husband and I love Lewis Black. Who would have thought to look for him on the Weather Channel?

Thanks for the heads up!

2. A response to Santorum and AccuWeather, maybe?
That's the only legit reason for this I can come up with....

3. I saw Lewis Black on the Weather Channel last night...
... his segment only lasted a few moments, he sounded like he had a cold, and he basically just said a couple of jokes about Las Vegas, because of the current weather in Nevada.

Great comedian, wrong venue.

Black on Broadway, on the other hand, is a CLASSIC (and available at Borders for only $19.95!).

6. I wonder if they are going to muzzle him on his political satire

That should make the weather a little more interesting

7. Weather Channel will go the way of MTV....
Music Television minus actual music.

The Weather Channel minus "weather" will be filled with cartoons, gameshows, and celebrity news and reality shows.

8. That is probably true.
Why is it that our citizenry can't just take in information? Does everything have to titillate?

11. Exactly what I thought
The ever-repeated Storm Stories gets old. Get back to the old model of all weather, all the time 24/7. Some corporate hack is trying to "diversify" their prodcut base and it will backfire.

Most of cable shows do not follow what channel they are on. They overlap quite a bit.
