Why don't Dems simply reframe issues as "freedom" issues? For example,
Gay marriage should be renamed "Freedom of Marraige" - the Freedom to marry whoever you want.
Abortion - "Freedom of Choice" - a woman's freedom to choose what happens in her own body
Minimum wage increase - "Economic Freedom Act"
Tax increase for the rich, to pay off the national debt - "Freedom from Debt Act"
Universal, single-payer health care - "Freedom from Illness"

The Rs are constantly repeating the word "freedom" as their holy grail, why not take a page from their book and frame issues in those terms.

2. I don't know about the others,
but abortion has always been framed as pro-choice. I think this did a lot to damp down the resistance that RW used to put up to it. :sarcasm:

But then I never did think the "re-framing" idea had a lot of practical merit behind it. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, and a pile of something that isn't called 'shit' still stinks. People on both sides of an issue can see that.

4. You give the idiot public too much credit.
This idea has always had merit. Its how the Christofascists have been operating for over 15 years.

7. I think bothsides
have always tried to present their ideas in th ebest light, at all times.

I think the public will be able to see through the BS and do the right thing, in the end. First, we have to seize control of the media and get our message out.

3. The Sanctity of the Constitution is our greatest challenge
They repeat because they know their ignorant base "wackos" slurp it up. How keeping people who love each from getting married is going to maintain the sanctity of marriage is beyond me. Yo breeders, clean up your own fucking house. They constantly push for laws which will have no effect on them BECAUSE THEY HATE!

Conservatives who vote for republicans are the number one domestic enemy of the constitution today. Voting for a republican is not voting for freedom.

Thanks for your post.

Use them, and use them profusely.
