Cheney's daughter in charge of "democracy promotion" in the ME
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 04:01 PM by firefox
The article itself is an example of the writing that is presented at CounterPunch- http://www.counterpunch.org/newkirk11102005.html It is as good as any piece on our present relations/intentions with Syria and is titled "Syria in the Crosshairs."

I put this up mainly because of the following paragraph and its relevance to the issue of cronyism.

Today Welch is Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, and is the superior of Elizabeth Cheney, Vice-President Richard Cheney's daughter. Ms. Cheney runs the Administration's "democracy promotion" effort in the Middle East.

I just wonder what Elizabeth Cheney would be doing if not with the federal government?

3. Democracy Promotion?
What will the women in the Middle East make of this feminine prototype of American women?

4. More like an oligarchy every day
Torture, opression, massive corruption, rampant nepotism -
the Bush/Cheney empire is beginning to make Saddam's regime look professional.

5. does she get paid 500,000.00 dollars like Delay's wife?
or is this a "mercy mission"? I'm sure its not to boost America's
image overseas.

6. Well, if she wasn't doing this job
she might be acting like a typical GOP family values-obsessed Bushbot by staying home and raising her four young children, one of whom is a baby. But far be it from me to make judgements on her based on what the GOP thinks are family values and traditional families.
