Supersize me
We just had the "supersize me" documentary on tv here last night, during the commerical break McDonlds felt the need to run a commerical ripping into the movie.

The McDonald's commerical was text based, the first part of the ad, said this film is not a REAL documentary, but just a tounge and cheek type doco and then it went on to say, what Morgon didnt tell you and baiscally called him a liar.

The last part of the commerical had information about McDonalds food is good for you, at the end of the commerical, up on the screen came the words "THOSE ARE THE FACTS"

I felt like I was watching FAUX.

2. Ha ha, after his first "supersize"meal, he
barfs it all back up out his car window.
UNLESS the fellow who shot this (sorry, name escapes me) faked all the doctors and all - and I can't imagine he did - it will have you thinkin' twice about what you're having for lunch tomorrow!

6. His girlfriend is actually a vegan chef
So he probably wasn't used to eating that stuff.

4. I watched that on Dec 15th of last year, that was the last time me
and my husband and daughter had fast food, i know it's bad for you obviously but the interview in the extras with Eric Schlosser discussing corporate farming made me ill.

8. Try reading fast food nation. I did several years ago and stopped
eating fast food. Supersize Me is an excellent documentary on the ills of eating that crap, but Fast Food Nation, will give you an insight in how it's made. Truly terrifying to say the least.

5. That was a great documentary
We need a dialog in this country about evil corporations. Hell, they are willing to sell your health down the river.. for a measly $3.49

Tobacco companies denied the charges too, for years they got away with it.

7. It was a hilarious documentary....
but to call it heavy handed is like saying Cheney might not win the Boston marathon.

If you eat three meals at McDonalds everyday, and get the fatty, starchy stuff, you're going to baloon up and out of control.

McDOnalds has salads, yogurt, and grilled chicken. It has diet pop, coffee, and juice. The hamburger or cheese burger have an acceptable amount of calories. You CAN eat healthy there if you want, but it's much more satisfying to eat the junk food.

But it was a harsh rip on McDonalds, in that they are no worse then any other chain. And unlike a LOT of fast food, they provide some healthy options. Maybe because of the movie, but you don't have to pig out when you go there.

However, the movie, in my mind, was less about McDonalds and more about nutrition, and it was really well done. I didn't think McDonalds was bad or evil after watching it, and I don't think that was the point. And I don't fault them for defending themselves either.
