"It's a silly case about nothing much" - Richard Cohen. WaPost

Spoken to Tweety. Did anybody else find themselves appalled to hear these words about the Plame case coming
from WaPost columnist Richard Cohen in defense, I guess, of his colleague Woodward?
What arrogant assholes these guys are.

1. Didn't he say the same thing in a column last month
that got largely blasted by the blogs - guess he hasn't changed his tune

4. It well could be - I vaguely recalled some assinine statement
he made recently but had forgotten exactly what it was on.

3. Just because corrupt character assassination is the norm...
Doesn't make it right nor does it make it exempt from the law.

It is their responsibility to handle classified info with extreme care always keeping in mind what's best for the COUNTRY.

Clearly, they weren't doing that here.

6. Yeah. I heard him. He said, "Hey, it's just the way things are done."
:wtf:

Yeah, the White House wants a critic to shut up so they out his wife and blow her CIA cover.

I can't believe people are upset about it. /sarcasm

8. and the Clinton impeachment was really a A SILLY case
but how many people said it then?? It stillboggles my mind to think that so much money and time were wasted trying to "get" a guy who was well-known to be a "chaser"..

THAT was a silly case, but republicans treated it like a quest for the holy grail...but then to them , it was. It set the stage for *². Without the impeachment, he could never have campaigned on "moral values", now could he??

9. Cohen is Baghdad Bob Woodwards official water carrier.
Co-dependent Cohen slopped it all over himself and he has to be among the dumbest people working at WaPo. And saying that today, is really sayin' something.

11. In the grand scheme of things, it IS a silly case that just shows
what a bunch of spoiled, catty juveniles are running our country.

Imagine how ridiculous this whole thing is: "What??? You said... (huff huff)... OK! Just for THAT we're gonna... WE'RE GONNA BLOW YOUR WIFE'S COVER! YEAH!!! WHADDAYA GOTTA SAY ABOUT THAT!!!???"

Nevertheless, the iceberg that this little tip is a part of is what all eyes should be glued to.

The Washington Po-Po.

How far it has fallen. It's a good thing they weren't writing a book about Nixon in 1973.

13. I just have distant memories of journalism school

in the 1970's when Woodward & Cohen (who exposed Agnew) had some
I guess integrity. But you know, I don't think real integrity can be lost. So I guess maybe they never really had it. I don't know.
