the Iraqis will be faced with a stark choice: whether or not to continue with this violence and descent into civil war.
And they will have to decide what tactics and which actions are appropriate when these target fellow countrymen and brother muslims, not "occupiers" and "collaborators".
And no longer will the American army be even a partial barrier between Iraqi government actions and the consequences of those actions.
There are new elections coming, let everyone (every Iraqi so entitled) have a chance to vote -- and let everyone actually vote.
And let us start planning now for an orderly withdrawal commencing at that time.
And for the love of God, if not man, let us have a ceasefire in the interim.
For if the violence continues unabated or increases, then it is more likely that this will continue to be the case once we have left.
