3. I assume they're playing up stereotypes?
Blue family drinks alot of coffee and reads poetry or something? Red family is "real America"? That kind of shit?

10. This blue family doesn't have cable!!!
I wish that I could watch it, because I'm interested in the "switching lifestyles" between red and blue, but, at the same time, my mom and dad live in an aluminum-sided ranch house, in a rural area, they have an SUV and a pick-up, shop at Wal-Mart, have puffy couches, and watch reality TV. My dad has a cabinent full of shotguns, and my mom decorates her house in "country," and only eats white bread -- and they have milk gravy, at least once a week -- and they're true blue Dems. My dad's a conservative Dem, but my mom's pretty liberal. My farmer grampa was the same way, and the last words out of his mouth, to me, were that he was glad I wasn't a Republican.

I, on the other hand, have a typical "liberal" home -- lots of secondhand stuff, non-puffy furniture, a compost pile, a VW, hardwood floors, shelves full of books, zero-cutesey, expresso machine, organic and ethnic food and no television. It would be an interesting exercise to even trade one of my "country dem," relatives with me. There would probably be as much difference.

So, the sterotype thing is way off -- but I still think it would be interesting.
