The debate on the sham Repub resolution has worked out well for the Dems.
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 06:10 PM by Lex
The debate and theatre and TV coverage has highlighted the issue very well.

I think the soundbites will work well for the Dems (I hope so).

Agree or disagree?

1. They haven't voted on it yet,
but let's hope the Dems will stand unanimously whether they all vote NAY or PRESENT.

3. No, I'm talking about the debate and the theatre of it all.
That has worked to the Dems advantage, I think.

2. A bit early to tell
I hope you're right. I wonder if it'll show up on the news tonight and, if so, how they'll spin it. CBS has gotten good as late.

5. Nobody but us and a few others
watch the theatre. All that counts is the soundbite.

Hope to hell they do. Every American needs to see and hear that.

7. We need to make sure that the MSM calls it the HUNTER Amendment
not the Murtha Amendment. That is the GOP's plan.

As a result of the vote, are we in a good position?

What happens next?

How did it make the Republicans look bad?

23. Because Jean Schmitt screeching that Murtha is a coward looks bad.
Ant that will be the soundbite/video of the dust-up.

And this resolution gave the Dems cover to vote AGAINST it, saying this is NOT what Murtha was proposing in the first place.

13. The Repubs trying to be cute.
Putting up some sort of sham resolution to make Murtha's actual resolution seem silly.

All hell broke out. Some newbie Repuke house member called Murtha a "coward." Harold Ford (I think) then went ballistic.

22. Not just a newbie - the bitch that beat Paul Hackett in
recent special election. She has been in D.C. about 5 minutes. This will mark the remainder of her tenure on the hill. What a stupid bitch but so glad she showed her shit early.

19. It's a repug stunt
they're making the House vote on a resolution about backing withdrawal. It's an attempt to paint the Dems into a corner and make them get on the record right now.
