"This President has borrowed more money from abroad than all..."
Edited on Sun Nov-20-05 05:10 AM by Hissyspit
"42 of his predecessors combined."

-- Rep. Dennis Cardoza, in Saturday's Dem radio address response, per this Blue Dog Coalition report:

http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=%5CNation%5Carchive%5C200511/NAT20051104b.html

From that article: Rep. John Tanner - "No American political leadership has ever willfully and deliberately mortgaged our country to foreign interests in the manner we have witnessed over the past four years."

1. This is such a dangerous thing to do... and what happens when these....
countries call in their note and we can't pay it?

Although I'm certainly not an economist this running up debt and using other countries as our lenders can not be a good or intelligent thing for our government to do any more then it is for average citizens. Good grief... what ever happened to the Republicans supposedly being the party of fiscal responsibilty? It's amazing how they've allowed themselves to be hijacked on so many levels by such an horrendously irresponsible agenda.

the value of fiscal responsibility as exclusive to them. As it stands today, it is not only not exclusive to them, it isn't camped out anywhere NEAR them.

5. 'Hypocrites' describes exactly what they've become in many ways.
It's sort of sad to see what these neo-cons have done to the Old Republican party. It's certainly not the party my husband's family was a part of back when it all started and it certainly hasn't changed in a positive way or moved forward into the current times.

They have become the antithesis of all they once stood so proudly FOR: fiscal responsibilty, of smaller government, etc.

7. There does seem to be something to that. Dems like cats because we value..
independent thinking. That may be why getting Dems to agree on something and worth together tends to be as difficult as herding cats. ;)

Although we do have a few dogs and I love them dearly I have always tended to prefer the company of felines... which is a good thing since we have a houseful. B-)
