9. Schmit is SO dumb! (link worked for me too)
I really enjoyed these quotes from 2 House Repuke defenders:

"The poor lady didn't know Jack Murtha was a Marine - she really just ran into a hornet's nest," said Representative Jack Kingston of Georgia.

Representative David Dreier of California said, "Very clearly, she did not know that Jack Murtha was a Marine."

Wonder if fellow Repukes set her up, knowing she's a moran?

15. This is part of their plan
They had her do this because she's a newbie so they can use this as a tool. Go and watch her video at CanOfFun blog. She timed everything perfectly and than afterwards the timing of them taking away her words was perfect. The guy residing asked if there were any objections and a democrat guy said "I object!" and he banged that gavel so fast they didn't even pay any attention to that guy!!!!

I'm quite sure she was set up, too. But her falling into this little trap means she AND her staph (mis-spelling intentional) are either clueless, or mindless jingos. She had two days to look up Murtha's record.

So I question the smarts of the GOP leadership who may have set her up. They not only assume that Schmidt and her staph are morans, but that regular rank-and-file voters are morans, too. I hope that assumption blows up in their monkeyfaces.

Keep in mind that perception is the tool Republicans have been using effectively (until recently) in order to garner public opinion.

The more polls floating around that reflect a consensus which is adversarial to the BFEE, the more exposed people are to the perception that Republicans are screwing up very badly.

Which, since they are, is highly and empirically justified.

the language here? She said on the floor that it was a fellow Repuke Rep who served in the Marine National Guard (NOT in Iraq) who called her... not just a Marine colonel.

"In attacking the Democrats' position, Ms. Schmidt, the newest member of Congress, said she had received a call from a Marine colonel, who "asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message: that cowards cut and run, Marines never do."

I think the second Schmidt question is problematic.

It's really too issues: should the war be debated and is "rancor" bad. I'd rather have some debate than polite silence.
