War protesters in Crawford, TX plan Iraqi meal for Thanksgiving
Turkey and dressing won't be on the Thanksgiving table of dozens of war protesters camping near President Bush's ranch.

Instead, they will eat an Iraqi meal of lentil soup, rice, traditional Middle Eastern bread and a salad with parsley, tomatoes and bulgur wheat.

"We want to connect with them and their simple lives as compared to the abundance we have in this country," said Hadi Jawad, a Pakistan native who co-founded the Crawford Peace House.

Their early Thursday afternoon meal was planned at the same 1-acre private lot that a landowner let them use in August during the last few weeks of their 26-day protest led by Cindy Sheehan.

2. Thom Little:
You have a quote from Hadi Jawad, but that quote is not in the linked AP article; where did the quote come from?

3. My only guess is that....

...the article must've been edited after I linked it. I remember reading that quote when I linked the original article, but it doesn't seem to be on the original link anymore. I just went back and checked the site where I found the article and could not find the story in the form I originally linked it.

I would change the thread to reflect what the newly-altered story says, but the board tells me that the thread has been up too long for me to edit it. Thanx for the heads up, nonetheless. Edit or lock the thread if you feel you must.
