DU Help: Cards From All 50 States For Soldier Friend In Iraq

I'm corresponding with a female soldier who is stationed in Iraq.

I thought it would be kind of a fun thing for her unit next month, if they could get postcards with holiday greetings from all 50 states. Kind of a fun collection thing.

It only takes a regular stamp and a postcard from where YOU live. I have CA covered, but multiples from the same states would be welcomed too! Why not? The only thing is that I'm not supposed to put APO addresses on a public board, so, anybody who is interested, please PM me and I'll send the address right off. THANKS!

I was in the Army from 1974-76 -- I know what mail can mean to a soldier. Is a photo postcard of Saginaw okay, or do you want an actual Christmas card? Either way is cool.

58. Yes The Flat Rate Boxes Are Great

This particular soldier is a vegetarian, so I'm sending her some soup and chili and peanut butter and stuff. They're having a hard time with the food over there, in general not just for vegetarians. When I first started sending care packages, it was almost always requests for movies, magazines, DVDs, books etc. Now food is the #1 request.

But I can't emphasise how much they love getting friendly letters too.

They love to get those tuna kids in the pouch-y things, slim jims or jerky, cliff bars, nuts, anything with protein in it for quick energy. They love easy mac!
