Duke Cunningham called gays "homos" on the House floor in 1993

During the 1993 debate on gays in the military, Cunningham took to the House floor and said that "they want to put the homos in the military". I never heard an apology for this remark in his blubbering press conference today.

Saw that today on DU. He's a sorry bastard criminal and I have no sympathy for him. Are his claims for being the inspiration for the movie "Top Gun" true?
