Does the military suck that bad?

So let me get this straight if we don't continue to die over there for what ever "victory" means, a small group of unhappy middle eastern people will over take and destroy the whole United States.
Does are army, navy and air force suck that bad. We only spend a majority of our budget on them. If this statement is true I demand General Peter Pace be removed from command and someone able to defend America put in place.

Would WE let the terrorists dance in the streets of our own hometowns? Is that the kind of citizens WE are? Are WE so easily duped that terrorists can come in, run for mayor, and take over our towns? (yeah, I get the irony in that) But this is what's so stupid about this whole years long war bullshit. All we need to do is infiltrate terrorist cells and stop attacks. And try to build the kind of world that doesn't fuel extremist ideologies. The military has little to do with any of it.
