Do YOU feel your Vote will Count? If Not then what have you done?
Edited on Fri Dec-02-05 07:47 PM by KoKo01
What have you done to make sure that our Voting Process is secure? Have you worked on making sure Verfied Paper Ballots are the Norm and not the Exception in your State? Have you supported efforts here on DU to further information on Diebold and the other Crap Touch Screen Machine Companies who have taken over and can change votes from Democrat to Repug all by passing by and connecting by "wireless?"

Have you pressured your State Elections Commissioners to make sure that the "computer code" in any counting machine or touch screen can be "independently verified" by a source that isn't connected to a "Republican oriented voter verified group?"

Have you written letters to your local newspaper questioning the voting situation where you live?

If you've done this...then this post is NOT FOR YOU. BUT, if you haven't then you need to be out there questioning...because as I post this our rights to vote are being eroded by the same folks who brought you all "CHIMP 2000" where Florida was declared REPUG.

2. I have written to:
Arnuld, Sec. of State McPherson, Senator Boxer and others. I don't know if they will listen. Other than that, I am a permanent absentee voter as is my husband.

4. We might all land in the "Absentee Voter" column since HAVA MANDATES
January 20th for the "Machines" to be ordered (it does vary by state, but close to that date). So, we have the Diebolds mucking into our voting bill with only a two month window over Thanksgiving and Christmas to marshall our forces. Hardly fair...hardly Democratic...hardly conscionable.

5. it seems that all of the activism in the world won't matter one bit . . .
since states and counties are continuing to buy and install e-voting systems, despite all of the evidence that they can be easily hacked -- and likely were in the past three elections . . .

what we need are our "leaders" to stand up and demand that the voting process and the vote tabulating be taken out of the hands of corporations and returned to the people . . . and thusfar, they are unwilling to do that . . .

activism only works if those who make the decisions can be made to listen . . . and for the most part, that ain't happening . . .
