The Repubs won't need Karl Rove Next Time, They have us
seriouslly some people on here are a joke. if a politician does not agree with them 100% of the time, they are garbage. Well guess what, when the repubs continue to kick our collective asses even though the country is going to hell.....don't wonder why, we will know why!

whether it's hillary, warner, obama, edwards, kerry, etc who represents us in 2008.......we are going to trash our own. yes they may not represent our view of the war on here, but guess what unlike the thug in office now.....once we get back in power we have the ear of the elected unlike now.

...and traitorous shitballs like Marshall Wittman, whose resume includes every right wing lobby on the planet, and Will Marshall who is a PNAC warmonger. If that's whom you want to cast your lots with, then knock yourself out. But don't pretend to represent MY party in the process.

44. In 1985, Marshall helped to found the Democratic Leadership Council
Well, the Reagan Republicans were nothing if not thorough. They even managed to make in-roads into the opposite party.

Don't be too disappointed when Hillary goes to Scotland to live with her retired husband. Before the dust settles from the economic policies started by NAFTA, most of the DLC will be in the party they belong, the republican party.

Moderates my butt.

49. Keep barking like a hyena
The last laugh is the best. We will see who has it.

There will be many of those so called corporate dems caught-up in the upcoming bribery scandals. I wonder how many will be foaming at the mouth capitalists, like the corporatist/globalist DLCers.

These folks continue to tell us how really wonderful it is to have free trade. Tell that to the unions. You may not realize this, but the unions are the backbone of this party not the corporations. Tell the unions the benefits of NAFTA. I'm quite sure there has been enough time for the unions to have a very good feel for what NAFTA is really all about.

I wonder just how many of the Joe Q. Public are capitalists. Hilary's health care initiatives were little more than another scam on the American people with the primary beneficiaries being the insurance industry and corporations as the cost of health care was to be shifted from corporate books to socializing the costs. Thats who Hilary really represents, the corporations. More and more people are beginning to see her, and Bill too, this way.

Give it a little time to cook. I think the corporate influence within this party is about to be very seriously questioned on it's value to the people.

So, go ahead, keep laughing.

10. And all ya can do is consider the source!
I think I am with many here who are pragmatic. I am going to watch the primaries, make my choice based on what they say they will do for the COUNTRY, not worry about what nitpicking little thing they may have done to play to their local constituency in the past, and vote from there.

At the end of the day, if my primary choice is not the nominee, then I will march my old ass to the voting booth on election day and VOTE FOR THE GODDAMNED DEMOCRAT. I do not care if it is Jesus H. Christ and his running mate, On A Bicycle, or Bozo the Dammed Clown.

The DEM gets my vote, because I am one MAD Dem!!!!

Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 04:49 PM by Zinfandel
that the republicans stole seats in the last three elections, while even more republican owned machines are pouring in to CA, NC and all over the country...week after week.

People just keep ignoring it as if it doesn't mean anything or the problem will just go away, as if their candidate will really have a fair shot!

And NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING has been done to stop the in flow of these machines, nor even to check them out...they just keep pouring in...the republican know what they are doing!!!!

Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 05:33 PM by Zinfandel
on television media, they don't believe it's a very large problem..stupid, stupid fools, as they'll be scratching their heads again in 2006 & 2008 and pointing fingers, why they lost and then screaming, that maybe it is those republican owned machines...

Now the media is NOT going to make an issue of it, it not in their best interest...They haven't mentioned it in 2000, 2002, 2004 and they won't for 2006 and 2008 and beyond.

As long as television media and the republicans keep feeding these ignorant people stories (as they have in the past so often) that their Dem candidate has a chance...they'll keep arguing and donating and believing they are going to win...

As the republicans will continue to steal the elections they need.

Cuz they didn't see it on Hardball os electronic voting machines must not be too big a problem!!!!

...I want the five minutes of my life back I wasted skimming through this stupid flamefest. I think the DLC sucks, but by the same measure, I'm not willing to cast aside anyone who doesn't agree with me 100%. Someone will be the Democratic nominee in 2008, and I'll participate in the process as much as I can to make it someone I can stomach. If it's someone I can't, I'll vote for them anyway and then try to hold them accountable.

Well, there are a couple of exceptions, but I think Joementum is a longshot for the nomination.

47. I think you are being overly sensitive, frankly
If any of the above threw their hat in the ring, and won the damn primary battle, I would cast my vote for them. And I suspect I am not the only one who feels that way. I want a Democrat in the White House, and I am not picky as to the flavor of Democrat at this point in the game. Left leaning, right leaning, or straight down the middle, I want a winner. My vote on election day goes to the Democrat who wins the primary battle--I won't take my ball and go home, or toss my vote away on some asshole who might get three percent of the vote, simply because they are not (fill in the blank) enough to suit me.

And I think it is about time. Whatever it takes to win....

Yep, this is clearly a inspirational unite us all thread. Oh wait a minute, this is a bash everyone that disagrees thread.

I think I'm united as a Democrat with Tierra_y_Libertad and AntiCoup2K4. I suspect this thread.

Odd how it sounds a lot like a love it or leave it freeper line. If you look at the style, message and tactic of this thread, it looks even more like a freeper import.

I for one fear the day the Democratic Party becomes lockstep like the Republicans have. If we don't struggle to bring honor and truth to our own party then there will be no difference in the long run.

Yes let's vote Democrat at the elections, but when a person misrepresents themselves or shows poor judgment, that person does not represent us well, even if he is on our 'team,' or has power, connections, position and money. Lets critically examine both sides. Remember that we the Democrats are the party of religious freedom, personal rights, progress, democracy, science and compassion. These things can only be protected by keeping eyes open and speaking truth.

If you want to unite us Parrothead Terp, MrBenchley, then inspire us. We are not the party of the goon squad. We are the party of thought and compassion.

45. We do have a little bit of trouble with unity and independent thought
We often don't seem to be capable of doing both at the same time. While the republicans get the unity but lose their ability to thin independently. There are a very few dem candidates I would not support, however, once they get the nomination.
