So if the North Pole moves to Siberia over the next 50 years
what climate does that put the North American continent into? See CNN.

4. the physical poles don't move...
The magnetic poles slowly move around all the time. If Magnetic North moves over siberia, this does not mean the earth has changed rotation on its axis. So, the northern lights will move, but not much else.

5. Pilots will need updated maps.
But then they update the maps for magnetic heading every year anyway. Mag compasses are always changing the direction they point in.

7. That's really unfortunate.
I was hoping for a nicer climate without moving.

8. a couple of years ago
living in Moab, UT had a geological team there doing studies to see if the magnetic poles had shifted. The rock in Moab is made up of sandstone and it is easier to follow the shift. Well anyway, they came into the shop where I was working and I asked one of them has it shifted yet? He said "no, not yet."

9. It can't shift that fast.
Magnetic pole shifts take place in geological time scales. And they are not effected by anything that humans can do. They are generated by forces deep in the earth, way, way, below the mantle.

And a pole shift would not change the climate of anything, based on known science of today.
