Patriot Act WTF
I messed around and didn't get my paycheck in the bank before it closed. I need to buy a few things, so I decided I'd just call up the grocery store and see if they'd cash it with a minimum purchase. One said they'd cash it free of charge.

So I head on over and give them my check and ID,

She says I'm sorry, I can't cash this, it's over 1,000 dollars.. the Patriot Act won't let us.

What the hell?!? What does my paycheck have to do with terrorism?

Because you know.. if I get to buy groceries... the terrorists win!!

5. you don't have direct deposit? i don't like to carry bills over a
$20.00 because sometimes it's hard to get change from anything larger.

14. It's not as much as it sounds like. We get paid monthly.
Nonetheless, it's not that big an issue.. I have some money in the bank and I wrote a check.

It really just pisses me off though. The way people make stuff up. Probably not the clerk, but her manager has told her this. And this poor girl certainly doesn't get paid enough to hear me lecture her on Liberty vs. Security. So I just said "Thanks anyway" and let it go.

15. pretty sad what teachers get paid. $1,000 a month is not very
much to live on.

16. Thankfully I do get more than that.
I feel guilty complaining about salary, because almost all the other teachers get paid less than I do. I am on a multiplier (salary schedule x 1.3) because I am a choir director (after school/weekends/partial summers)
