Why Do We Let Bush Go ON
That seems strange to me. Everybody knows he's impotent. That this administration is about as crooked as any in history; that the whole bunch of them have conspired to do whatever big business dictates; to completely ignore or destroy anyone and everyone who gets in their way.

It's not like its a big secret. It's all over the News every day.

And yet we just keep toddling along.

Have we just become too exhausted with trying to make it from day to day to have energy to fight this bunch?

What has happened to us?

1. Safety Valves

Our society has a lot of safety valves - for one, we have a chance to vote and change the congress next year. For another we have reletive freedom of speech to complain about what's going on.

2. Are Democrats too Nice?
Are we just too polite? Seems like Republicans will stoop to anything to get what they want. I really don't want to have to lower myself to their level.

3. Well, Bush isn't King. He has help
There is a Congress that is controlled by the GOP in both houses. Personally, we focus way too much attention on Bush and not nearly enough on winning back the Congress.

King George would be a lot more open to our suggestions if he had to deal with a democratic controlled house or senate every day.

4. Congress has been a major disappointment.
The few good people there just seem to flounder.

5. Not a day goes by that I don't think the same thing..
For one thing, his cognitive impairment is so obvious, you don't have to be a clinician to see it. Did you ever notice the lack of complexity in his thought processes? Something organic going on. This should be a major issue, but it isn't.

And, as you said, the blatant corruption...I just shake my head.

We here on DU get a skewed perception of what's going on because we have access to an enormous amount of information that's not available to those who aren't using the internet for their news source.

What if you depended only on your local newspaper and whatever Faux and the other media whores served up. You'd think everything looked normal, too.
