Yes, only $2.98 but I will complain about it
Every time Comcast is down with the Internet connection, I do stay on the line to get a ticket number. And the next day I call the billing dept. to request credit. And when the next statement comes - there is no credit.

I even ask for the name of the person - not that it matter - though a friend of mine claims that it is always "Bob."

They count on the fact that by the time we get the statement we would have forgotten about past events and, this months, we are looking at the increase in price - again!

But I think that if all million of us will demand to get credit for $1.13, or for $2.98, or for $5.31 - Comcast may get the message. Maybe. As Lilly Tomlin used to say about the phone company: they don't care, they are the cable company.

1. Are you even able to get a credit?
Last time I tried calling them to get them to offset my bill, Comcast wouldn't give me a credit until my service was down for 24 hours straight.

10. Like every behemoth, the billing and technical departments
do not talk to each other.

The techs give me a ticket number because they know that the service is down - usually from the evening until the following morning. The billing dept. just shrug - I have ticket numbers, fine. In some cases they don't even care about ticket numbers.

2. Hell yes.
We do the same. Cox goes down for us (on the very edge of their service) and will stay down for hours and sometimes 3 or 4 days. It pisses us off to no end but being in a low population area we stay down longest. We do the same, they owe us for that time down.

3. Switch to Direct TV
They usually have free installation or other promotionals to get you started. You don't have to pay for the equipment, I found their rates better than comcast with better channel choices. Make a stand and encourage others to do the same. Comcast will get the message.

5. murdoch
But, you do realize that direct tv is an arm of the murdoch (fux news) empire.I'd put up with dial up before I sent a penny to that A-hole.I realize that sometimes ones options are limited, but sacrifices sometimes must be made. As the repigliconnies are so fond of pointing out freedom isn't free.

4. Long ago
The Tel company raised pay phone rates from ten cents to twenty-five cents. The increase was immediatly rebuked by the state.

I entered a long battle to get a fifteen cent refund on a pay phone call I had made.

One day two men showed up at my shop. They were from the phone company bearing fifteen cents cash. They also took me to lunch.

Never give up!

6. Wonderful story!
When still living in California, where I could refill my one gallon containers with distilled water from a machine that stood outside, I lost a quarter. I called the toll free number and got a quarter in the mail.

9. We had problems with Time Warner like this
Our cable went down all the time. They always promised a credit and we never got it. Finally one day I kept asking for a supervisor and finally got to talk to the head of customer service. She gave me 6 months credit on my bill.

So keep at it. Persistance pays off.
