Let's hear it for the Texas Democratic Senators!
Stepping up to the plate to kill redistricting! Two strikes, and Delay's almost out (of dirty tricks up his sleeve)!! Although Governor Goodhair is threating another special session for the sole purpose of the redistricting, possibly ten minutes after this session is over.

Texas Democratic state Senators have threatened to bust the quorum. Only this time they no longer need to leave the state. Courts said it is illegal to use the rangers and state police to round up legislators for busting the quorum. They can hang out in the back yard and bbq if they like, and Goodhair and Delay can't do a thing.

GO TEXAS DEMS!!!!

6. They have brought Tom Delay's dirty tricks out into the light---
and they have exposed the Texas repukes as the extremists they are. They don't care that most Texans oppose redistricting and that most newspapers have editorialized against it and that they are spending time and money foolishly in the midst of a budget crisis. People in Texas see that repukes don't give a damn about the wellbeing of this state. Bullock used to say do what is best for Texas. Delay/Craddick/ Perry/Dewhurst are trying to do that is best for Delay and the GOP in Washington. It is more obvious every day. The Texas Dems first in the house and now in the senate have held off the Vandals and deserve our thanks.

7. Dewhurst says Perry will call second special session ...
Edited on Sat Jul-26-03 10:03 PM by DemoTex
Sooner rather than later! Another $1.7 mil down the crapper if he does. What a corrupt, power-grabbing cabul these Texas repukes are. It is pack-dog mentality with the foam-mouthed, baying son-of-a-bitch Tom Delay leading the maddogs up the slippery hill again.

8. This shit is going to backfire - large!
The lastest figures I have show 2/3 against amongst the public...I'm guessing that figure will increase.

However, if this does pass next special session, whaddya bet * finds a little pool of federal funds in some obscure budget to pay for all of this? :eyes:
