Would you describe this person as one of the good guys or not?...
He's a registered Republican because he despises Hillary Clinton, he has a confederate flag bumperstick and flies a confederate flag at his house, his favourite artist is Tupac Shakur, he's staunchly pro-labour (he calls himself "The Voice of Blue Collar America"), one of his major considerations for supporting candidates is their preference for gambling revenue over tax revenue, he tends to be moderate on social issues but opposes affirmative action, he despises Bush's curtailing of civil liberties (and will vote DNC or Libertarian in 2004), he supports Richard Ieyoub (a blue dog Democrat) for Louisiana governor and HATES GOP incumbent Mike Foster with a passion, his favourite politicians tend to be moderate and conservative Democrats, he hates evangelicals because he's a Catholic and a secularist, he would change his party registration if the DNC nominates Bob Graham for President, he's pro-life, he hates Lincoln, and he gets extremely offended when conservatives make French jokes (he's Cajun).

3. I would have to know why he feels as he feels and tend
not to regard people as "good guys" or "bad guys." What is the point of your question?

4. I wouldn't...
...because I am too complicated a person to divided people into the good and the bad. I'm not a cowboy.

I would categorize him as an anti-choice racist who's left-wing on most other issues; I don't worry at all about his hatred of Hill Clinton, because if Bush wins in 2004 and the candidates in 2008 are Giuliani and her then I'm voting for Giuliani.

BTW, what does, "he's a secularist" mean? Does it mean that he doesn't go to church, or that he's a full-blown supporter of separation of church and state?

8. I guess he doesn't know WHY he despises Hillary Clinton...?
He's a registered Republican because he despises Hillary Clinton

Most of them don't. Anyone with irrational hatred toward anyone is not a good guy.

13. I Saw The Point
I think an argument can be made that all hatred is irrational.

I vacillate between thinking Chimpy, errrrr Bush is either evil or misguided.

I think Nixon was evil because he was a hater....

18. I disagree with you concerning Nixon = evil
Anyone familiar with his biography can only come to the conclusion that Nixon's paranoia and other pathologies were rooted in his resentment over early emotional and material privitations. He was certainly twisted, but I wouldn't say evil. However, * has only experienced a lifetime of action without consequence. I consider his rapaciousness, and disdain for all others to be pretty damned evil.

we've got enough of our own that won't even do that much. Should we consider them good guys or bad guys?

12. He sounds like my daughter's husband.
This kind of intellectual hodge-podge is pretty common out there among the voters. People are having so much shit thrown at them that they're having a hard time making sense of it. Somebody like that could just as easily vote Republican as Democratic, without really understanding why they are doing it. That's why my daughter always helpfully fills out the absentee ballots.
