Time to remember a quote from Vaclav Havel
It's in a book I have and should be remembered this morning:

The real measure of a person is not how we treat our friends, but how we treat our enemies.

In advance, I'll go on record as saying I will NOT "gloat," "be happy," "celebrate," or "cheer" the death of Ronald Reagan - or any political "enemy." I like to consider myself an old-fashioned liberal. That means good old-fashioned liberal compassion. The day Reagan dies, I'll think of how if old Tip O'Neil were with us - he'd be crying like a baby. Political adversaries to the end - they had a warm friendship and Tip stayed in touch with Reagan until the day Tip died in January of 1994.

1. Yes, if he was good enough for Tip
He's good enough for me. Not that I agree with Reagan, but the idea that we'll be gloating when Reagan dies is, well, a freeper thought.

3. Nor shall we televise his dead body on primetime TV
like we did with Ootie and Kootie in Iraq.
