Saddam was held by Kurdish forces, drugged and left for US troops
LONDON, (AFP) - Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) was captured by US troops only after he had been taken prisoner by Kurdish forces, drugged and abandoned ready for American soldiers to recover him, a British Sunday newspaper said.

I hope he has an automatic car starter - if you glean wherefore I'm coming from. Carnahan-wise. Wellston-wise.

God, please save us from those who say you appointed them.

6. You know,
I think we're on the other side of that spectrum, now, though. Do you know what I mean?

They've gone too far in the wrong direction. People are starting to see it all for what it is.

It feels and sounds like George Harrison, to me...."Here Comes the Sun"....

4. If this story is true, it should knock the feet out from under any claims
made from this point on, and prove what liars this administration and the top commanders in Iraq are. But it won't matter. There are millions of people out there who don't mind being lied to if the think that they are being "protected" by this bunch of criminals. And what's really interesting, if true, is that the Kurd's negotiated for Saddam's release to the US in exchange for "preferred" status. That should send some people into a tizzy.

5. Does this prove jmach's theory about capture in July? Yellow Dates in
photo, supposedly? Is that the missing part of the story? Has this been out on any of the cables?

And, why were the Bushies so stupid as to think this wouldn't come out eventually. Unbelievable.

7. What scares me most is what this...
administration will do once THEY see that the truth is taking root in the citizen's minds rather than their lies. They will have to know people will demand answers, what will the fools have to lose? They may want their man-made armageddon right away.

13. Well the papers are already saying how he ran all these bombings....
Dressed as the locals, so would I if I was on the run, lived on candy bars, sort of funny, walked every place. Grew beard, what happened to the fake one we said he had, oh the whole story is nuts from spider hole on. I read once that TV was aimed at (I think) eighth graders and the news must be done the same way, each story, as the polls go down, gets more odd.

30. Yes, Izzie, and everything to do with this P-Residency is odd....on needs
to carry a magnifying glass with one at all times to be sifting for evidence. Nothing they say ever proves to be true or even within some limits of truth that most of us can recognize. It's disgusting. BUT, they get the lie out first...broadcast it through the "controlled media" until it's had a few days to take "root" and then when the "truth" finally manages to get out, no one cares, because the "LIE" is already "imprinted on everyone's brain!" So, they always win, except with those who don't succumb easily to "mind/thought control."

What will they do with us? Will there be an eventual "Final Solution" for those of us who won't succumb to "Psy Ops?"

Figure out how long it takes Saddam to grow hair that long on his neck, and you'll probably get your answer.

9. A lot of people in this country like to believe in the lies.
There was a movie called "Spitfire Grill". In it a girl is in prison in Maine and she is working for the Maine tourist bureau and she tells a woman on the phone how beautiful the scenery in Maine is. A fellow inmate calls her on it since all she has seen is the inside of the prison. The girl replies, "People would rather hear a good lie over the truth any day."

12. It was #4 on Yahoo, but the story stopped counting "5's" after about 170
vote tallies, and only counted lower ratings. I know because it didn't register my two yahoo account votes; also, several of my friends' on Instant Message also voted 5's, but their ratings didn't rate, either.

It's been spammed since I last left it.

15. It's from "Arab Free Press" so it may be propaganda. Have to see if any
of the "mainstream" British papers pick up on it. Maybe some more fact checking is needed before we get all worked up aout it.

27. Sunday Express
The article said it was the Sunday Express "which quoted an unnamed senior British military intelligence officer". I haven't read the
Express in years but the last time I did I was left with the impression
it was a typical right wing rag.

21. No, Saddam is now in US custody
However, it means that the story of US troops capturing Saddam in his hidey hole is not what it seems. It also means that the Kurds not only screwed Saddam, they screwed the US by sticking the US with Saddam alive. That was the last thing in the world Bu$hCo wanted was a Saddam flapping him mouth to anyone who will listen.

Last Sunday some of us early birds that hang out here watched this story unfold. The news of Saddam's capture came out of Iran, so I guess the Arab papers can be a reliable source of information. A couple of hours later the story finally hit the US media, with CNN the first to get a clue. It took hours for FAUX to wake up and get permission from their CIA handlers to even touch the story. Now it turns out that a lot of details from the initial reports out of Iran are turning out to be closer to the truth the bogus WH version. Once again, a photo op that was supposed to make W look like a great war hero turns out to be as fake as that lump in W's flightsuit.

28. I was being sarcastic. Here is what I was meaning:
Joe Sixpack is not a news/ploitics junkie. He will not care about the details of whether or not anybody else was or wasn't involved. He will care only about the headline, "Saddam Captured Alive".
That all he will see and care about.

The rest simply doesn't matter to Joe. So the Kurds helped. Hey that's what we had a $25M reward for was to loosen some tongues.

I know the news says that no reward is being paid - if you believe that.
