Federal Agents Arrest Couple Dealing WMD Near Tyler, Texas
...in May of this year ...federal agents arrested a white racist couple dealing in weapons of mass destruction in a small town near Tyler, Texas. The feds seized a cyanide bomb capable of unleashing a deadly, poison cloud, chemicals and components for additional WMDs, gas masks, 100 conventional bombs, an arsenal of automatic weapons, silencers and half a million rounds of ammunition.

...The bust went unreported last Spring, although George Bush was said to have been regularly briefed about the “ongoing” investigation. Finally, the Dallas-Fort Worth CBS affiliate broke the story on November 26, when longtime militiaman and traveling gun merchant William J. Krar and his common-law wife pled guilty to possession of a chemical bomb and lesser charges.

...The New York Times got around to the story on December 13, not on the news pages, but through a back door Op-Ed article titled “Enemies at Home.”

...the Republicans are determined to ride the tidal wave of white fear and hate to its ultimate, ordained destination: world conquest. And there will be no reminders of the despised Tim McVeigh to break the triumphalist spell – not if Attorney General Ashcroft can help it.

Questions:

  • Why are we still fearful of "swarthy" Arabs, who live thousands of miles away, when our next door neighbors, co-workers, or friends of friends, are here at home stockpiling WMD and learning the fine art of chemical bombs?

  • Why wasn't this national news?

  • Why wouldn't this administration exploit these arrests as proof of their ability to keep us safe?

  • Why was this not considered newsworthy, but Kobe, Michael, Scott Peterson, and poor Jon Benet (yes, she's baaacck) are on network news 24/7?

  • Who is in charge of these things?

1. Anthrax letters
This is interesting as i heard recently that the FBI was building a case that Al-Quada was behind the Anthrax letters which i feel where probably from some angry American.

2. Well, that's pretty obvious, isn't it?
Given the fact that all of the anthrax letter victims happened to be people who Limbaugh hates...

8. That would be VERY interesting,
since it is proven that the anthrax came from a secure military facility, how in the world did Al Queda operatives get in there and abscond with the anthrax spores? Hmmmm.

16. The Busheviks have discovered that their lies do not even have to make sen
se.

Yes, it will be "discovered" that al-Qaeda mysteriously found their way into Ft. Detrick, then sent their anthrax letters to the tabloid journos who printed the pictures of drunken Bush daighters, followed by the "lib'rul media", followed by the Democratic Senatorial Leadership.

If true, (yah, right) it just means that al-Qaeda and the Busheviks share the same hatreds of liberalism for the same reasons.

3. Good questions, all. But we all the know the answers.
And anything that happens in the next 5 years will be blamed on Muslims.

4. Thanks for posting this
I have been following this story too since I read about it in the memory hole. These people are true terrorists, and if they were Muslim or Arab, it would be on the front page of every paper in huge type. True racism, and I think it shows that the "war on terror" is not to protect us, but to keep us frightened and docile.

This link has pictures too

14. Sure they were arrested...
But they weren't thought of seriously enough to have been taken into custody when they were investigated shortly after 9/11/01. They certainly weren't taken seriously enough to be closely investigated after being involved in similar activities in 1995. As a result, their activities continued unabated. If not for a pure accident, they could possibly have pulled off their plans successfully.

As it stands now, all of those arrested refuse to implicate others. Their "cells" are well protected. Apparently, none of that is serious enough to garner 24/7 news coverage. The discovery of Winnebagos of death in that country full of swarthy evildoers is still treated seriously by the American public because of news coverage, but cyanide bombs, hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition, and a laundry list of weapons discovered right here in the good ol' U S of A is only an inconvenience, it's not worthy of widespread dissemination to the public.

You think they're taken seriously because they were arrested? Stop making jokes.

7. Former Dallas FBI Special Agent in Charge Danny Coulson said:
“It’s scary when you look at their capabilities,” he said. “Look at the vulnerabilities of our society. We don’t have to concern ourselves only with foreign terrorists, but we need to concern ourselves with domestic terrorists, too. And these guys are very dangerous.”

9. Media controlled by Conservatives?
Edited on Tue Dec-30-03 10:09 AM by pnziii
It's funny how we have to listen to two or three days reporting on some gaff that Dean makes, but there is nothing about this home grown terrorist plot.

The conservatives need an enemy that we can be afraid of so they can rebuild the military.

Almost everyone I talk to says that all muslims are bad and they hate Americans/Christians.

It's also funny that the liberals are painted as fear mongers.

Of course, lucky for us the Imperials are not yet ready to go through with their Final Solution to the Liberal Problem (whatever that may be, definitely different than the Last Final Solution Proposed by Totalitarians).

18. Ummm...silencers, machineguns, ammunition and bombs...
aren't necessarily illegal in Texas or much of the US.

I've got a bunch of machineguns, a few silencers, and probably over a ton of ammunition in my house (I don't know, I never weighed it, but there's a lot of it, and it's heavy). It's all legal, and I don't live in Texas. I don't mess with explosives, they make me nervous and my property isn't big enough to safely go blowing stuff up on it, but it's legal to have explosives if you follow the rules, too.

My wife probably has stuff to manufacture what could be considered WMDs in the cleaning closet. There's no evil (unless you call housecleaning "evil") intent, but if you mix the wrong everyday household cleansers together they'll release poison gas. It's basic chemistry.

I've always found the whole "WMD search" thing to be funny. EVERY 7-11 and Supermarket in the US sells all of the required components and equipment to make certain chemical weapons (think WWI poison gas from the trenches). Al you need is the two generic cleansers and a "big gulp" cup.

19. Bombs aren't illegal? Silencers aren't illegal?
I realize gun ownership, or stockpiling, errrr uhhh, collecting weapons may not be illegal, but bombs & silencers?

Which states allow individuals to possess CYANIDE bombs & silencers?

21. A majority of states....
Edited on Tue Dec-30-03 06:17 PM by DoNotRefill
allow private possession of explosives and silencers. These include TX, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, LA, AZ, NM, KY, WVA, and a bunch of other ones.

Bombs and silencers are regulated Federally under the National Firearms Act of 1934. Until very recently, you could purchase explosives (dynamite, Kinnepac, et cetera) in most states without a background check, just by showing your drivers license. Now you need an easily obtainable license. No blasting licenses were needed in most places. You can still buy "binary explosives" through the mail/UPS. These are 2 inert substances which when combined make an explosive, much like epoxy is manufactured at home.

"silencers" are useful in cutting down on noise pollution, just like a muffler on a car. Explosives have lots of uses, and are routinely used to blast stumps and rocks to clear land. I know people who use explosives as "reactive targets". They have a get-together and machinegun shoot twice a year, spray-paint dynamite orange, and tape it to 55 gallon drums of deisel fuel. They then shoot it, causing "big booms". They get blasting permits to do this, and they hire the fire department to come out and make sure nothing catches fire that shouldn't. It's all completely legal and above-board.

20. "cyanide bombs" are fairly easy to make-
and the necessary ingredients easy to come by.
It's one of the reasons that I know in my gut that there is no real "AlQueda" threat in the U.S....we've been thru 3 christmas shopping seasons since 9/11, and a simple to choreograph attack with cyanide bombs detonated at several crowded shopping malls across the country would slam the brakes on the holiday shopping, the retail industry, and the U.S. economy.
a similar attack on trains, busses, planes, subways, even elevators and the like would probably have been seen by now, and with similarily chilling effects on the nation's psyche.
the terrorists are today's boogeymen in today's cold-war -being waged by neo-cons and pnac creators/supporters.
