Armed with this info, how do we begin to convince my fellow red-necks to vote Democrat?

And also, I swear when I posted the article, it had a line that said
"Down here we still love beauty queens, quarterbacks and, of course, George Bush."

Now, maybe 10 minutes later, it reads "Our most celebrated alumni are still beauty queens, quarterbacks and, of course, Trent Lott."

1. You need to keep on hammering
on all of the ways Bush's actions since taking office have made their lives worse. Has the cost of tuition gone up at Ole Miss? That's for starters.

2. You can't win everyone over
"Armed with this info, how do we begin to convince my fellow red-necks to vote Democrat?"

This is just one campus and one population of students. I'd say our best bet is too not waste much money on Mississippi.

I do not believe we should give up on the South. Further I do happen to believe Dean will lose in a general election against Bush and be annhilated throughout the South.

Saying that, there are some bastions of religious fanaticism and racist thinking that are just not worth wasting our limited time and money on. I sure as hell will not blame Dean for not winning in Mississippi - nor will anyone else.

We can do well in the South if we run a great campaign and nominate a good candidate. We can't and won't win everywhere in the South, but we can make inroads in some of the more moderate areas and outright win in some southern States.

4. I agree.....
We dont like "blacks 'n queers" as much down here....

Imagine my delight, being born a gay man in Arkansas! The low wages and cost of living have me trapped here. I'd be VERY poor anywhere else in the country, but I'm planning to escape soon.

But the people are VERY polite here....to your face.

6. its not important to have everyones vote
if we get the moderates and the real liberals to actually come out and vote we may win the election...part of our problems in my opinion is that most liberals do not vote (for a variety of different reasons)..so its more important to ensure that our friends/family who are liberal actual go to the polls
