Ms.Magazine: women of CODEPINK, one of the "Women of the year"
from www.codepinkalert.org

Women of CODEPINK has been hailed by Ms.Magazine as one of the Women of the Year. Congratulations to all the thousands of CODEPINK women out there!

CODEPINK is gearing up for the new year with a clear and simple message: Bush Out the Door in 2004!  Along with our ongoing work to end the occupation of Iraq, we are speaking out about injustices around the globe. We are already mobilizing for several major events.

7. this one is my favorite....BIG impact from only TWO women.....
Edited on Thu Jan-01-04 10:44 AM by amen1234
they registered for an event at the National Press Club here in Washington DC...and when war-profiteer and mass-murderer donald rumsfeld began his speech, these two brave woman stood up and said a few pointed words to rummy....

AND, it was a great location, too...the National Press Club, where there are always a lot of press people with their cameras and microphones...and this was NOT illegal....the National Press Club banned these women from ever coming back, but that's it....no arrest, no charges...rummy's thugs made a horrible scene by dragging these peaceful women (who had registered for the event) out of the building 'in the name of national security for the secretary of defense)..but no arrests...hehehehehhee

8. the code pink ladies are AWESOME
I went to my first protest ever last year, in Century City, and these ladies rented a room at the Century Plaza Hotel, where Shrub was giving his fundraiser, and launched a 40-foot pink slip that said "Bush You Lied - You're Fired" off the 12th floor balcony of their room.

it was GREAT. The secret service ripped it down. So much for free speech.

I love Code Pink!
