Man In Trailer Park Ends Standoff With Police After 'Getting A Beer'

A Goodlettsville man wanted a beer before ending a standoff yesterday with Metro police at a Dickerson Pike mobile home park, authorities said.

Police negotiators and SWAT team members were called and residents were blocked from about 1:30 p.m. until nearly 5 p.m. from coming to or going from Shady Hills Manufactured Home Community, 1508 Dickerson Pike.

Eugene Harris ''Bubba'' Adams, 44, of Crocker Springs Road, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault, as well as felony probation violation and two counts of failing to be booked on misdemeanor offenses.

''He agreed to surrender, but he said he was first going inside to get a beer. He's a man of his word,'' said police spokesman Don Aaron.
