3. I can beat that!

Easily.

Right here:

Here in Sheboygan, second door from the right, been here since 1992.

You see, I prefer staying in one place, having a stable home and not having to move around so much.

6. I had a 10 years like that:

from 92 - 2002:

1. Loxahatchee, FL

2. Paris Island, SC

3. Camp Lejeune, NC

4. 29 Palms, CA

5. Quanitco, VA

6. Germantown, MD

7. Okinawa, Japan (specifically Camp Schwab near Hanoko)

8. Virginia Beach, VA

10. Back to Quanitco, then moved to Dale City, VA to Dumfries, VA to Woodbridge, VA...they're all pretty much the same, so I'll count them as one.

11. Back to Loxahatchee, FL then to Royal Palm Beach, FL. I'm now "settled" there, I guess.

7. nice mix
I take it you were in the military?

The 29 Palm area is really neat. Joshua trees and the desert. It's so different from the rest of CA, you actually feel kinda isolated out there...

Then there's the Salton Sea...

29 Palms was interesting. Mostly we took cabs out of there and went to LA, San Diego, Tiajuana, ect.

It's in the middle of nowhere, but sorta close to everything.

One thing I hated was that they made us run up those sand hills.....you don't know pain until you have to do that all day.

LOL....one time we rented a U-Haul, and about 20 of us went to the club in it. It was Club Metro in Riverside - anybody know if it's still there?

(on edit) My favorite out of all those was Okinawa.

8. No doubt about it--you've moved around a lot!
Here's my record for the past 10 years:

1. Newington, CT
2. Manchester, CT
3. Rockville, CT
4. Hartford, CT
5. Laughlin, NV
6. Melbourne Beach, FL
7. Newington, CT
8. East Hartford, CT

And I may soon be moving 20 or so miles east to Coventry, CT. I'm going to see about a place this evening before I do my radio show.

12. Ah yes, Radio...the only occupation that moves its people...
...more is the military. Someday, sit down and try to come up with a list of call letters...(My only regret is that I've been on a bunch of W---..never worked for a K---.)

15. No, they're not; commercial radio sucks from coast to coast!
And you're talking to a guy who has driven across the country three times and kept the radio on most of the way!

17. Um, a K station means all stations in the west half of the US.
Edited on Sat Apr-24-04 07:53 PM by northwest
The exception is KDKA in Pittsburgh. There's also a grey area of states (North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas) where both W and K stations will be found. Every radio station except for two of them in North Dakota start with a K. Same with California, Washington, etc.

The beginning call letter has nothing to do with whether or not it's a commercial station.
