Knives/Swords that value in excess of $800!

Would anyone even really buy stuff like that?

One of them (cheap - only $400 or so) is a limited edition of 1500 pieces worldwide. 24K gold plated in a display case.

They're the ones who sell to businesses. They don't do direct-to-customer sales.

We're intrigued by the items. There are some things in there that we would like to carry (binoculars, for example) but the $800 set of knives had me gasping for breath. (Unless someone here wants to buy them for me...)

You won't believe how many people buy expensive things online. Believe me, that's what I do for a living. Selling things online for comission.

There are a lot of people who collect edged weapons. I've several swords and daggers myself. :)

I've seen The Kin Tori set sold for over $1500. There are many others, particulary ancient weapons (not copies) and they can command prices you would NOT believe.

5. Yes, some people buy those.

What is available in catalogs is almost universally overpriced, but yes, people buy them.

Some people want a dramatic display piece. Some people collect swords and knives like others collect Beanie Babies. And some people (like myself) just like sharp, pointy things.

It's not a huge market, though.
