Unbelievable deal, half price on a Dave Wannstedt Bobblehead Doll!!!
Only $12.95 for this Limited Edition classic, Dapper Dave wearing a sweater vest and with his arms folded, no doubt beholding another error-free TD drive by Jay Fiedler.

Oh, and the obligatory plug to Trumad's related site, with somewhat varied depictions of Super Bowl Dave at bottom:

1. Ouch.

The pain of the wound is enough. No need for the salt and lemon juice.

The Dolphins are consistently the best team in the NFL that doesn't do anything. I'd rather have a few losing seasons if it meant a Super Bowl run every decade or so.

2. What, memories of '72 aren't enough?
Well, I'm old enough to remember, season ticket holder in fact. I didn't realize it was supposed to hold me from age 12 until social security, at this rate.

At least 2004 provides intrigue, unlike recent seasons. A.J Feeley could semi-resemble Jake Delhomme or suck worse than Brian Griese. The offensive line finally has some athletes in Jeno James and Vernon Carey.

In other words, an alternate route to 9-7.

4. Feeley played 4 games in 2002 and has sat the bench since
He played good in those games but they were against crap teams... In the last QB camp he looked like shit and fucking Fiedler's still the starter... Carey's a rookie so he won't be much help... We'll be lucky to go 8 and 8....

5. That didn't prevent us from surrendering a 2nd round pick
In next year's draft. We were the only team that made only one selection in the first 3 rounds of the 2004 draft. That's my agonizing beef with the current brass, they eagerly forfeit high draft picks every year so we never have a chance at a turn-the-corner bonanza.

I remember Feeley's starts very well. He beat Tampa Bay in the 2001 finale on the road, but it was all in the 4th quarter vs. Bucc reserves. Tampa rested its starters for the playoff rematch a week later. In 2002, Feeley defeated the Rams in Philly, but looked shaky all game. The only TD was an INT return off Kurt Warner. After a couple wins vs lousy teams, Feeley lost the finale at Giants Stadium, blowing a 7-0 lead and never putting any points on the board the entire 2nd half despite several lost fumbles by Tiki Barber.

Feeley has an excellent arm, but he barely played in college at Oregon or with the Eagles. I expect Fiedler to outplay him during the exhibition games.

6. Remember
Wanny and Spielman were the brilliant knuckleheads that gave up the Bears 11th pick in the draft to trade for Rick Mirer... Their track record ain't to good on QB's...

7. I forgot about that bonehead move
You could already tell Mirer's confidence was shot, several years after a good rookie season in Seattle. There was no way he was worth a 1st rounder at that point, let alone top 15.

Sage Rosenfels, anyone?
