Poll question: Favorite Nine Inch Nails Song?
I know there's some other NIN fans here at DU...so tell me, what's your favorite (or favorites)? This list is by no means complete (the choices are actually just my personal faves) so please share what your favorite is if you don't see it listed.

Oh, and I left off "Closer" on purpose, 'cause it was good the first 100 times I heard it, but now...eh.

And I left off the instrumentals 'cause I didn't have room, but "Help Me I Am in Hell" and "A Warm Place" are also brilliant in their own right, imo. Same goes for all the re-mixes.

2. Ahhhh, but you've never had the pleasure of hearing your mom sing
"Fuck me like an animal", now have you?

6. Ha!
Sorry, but no, I have not had that pleasure...actually, no, I'm not sorry about that! I'm glad my mom doesn't like that song! :P

5. I voted of Wish, but ...!
his remix CDs that follow up the main releases are almost universally better.

10. Remix CDs
I loved "Fixed." I'd almost forgotten about that one. My brother and I wore out that CD and "Broken" between the two of us back in the day...that's one I definitely need to buy again!

7. I didn't vote ...
because I truly could not pick ... Too many fond memories of moshing around the basement with my fraternity brothers while listening to "Head Like a Hole" ... too many drives home from work venting the day's frustration to "Wish" ... too many good grooves singing along to "Down In It." And damn, you didn't even include "The Perfect Drug," "We're in This Together" or "The Day the Whole World Went Away"! And "March of the Pigs"!

And what about the cover of Joy Division's "Dead Souls" on The Crow soundrack?

Damn ... Trent,

:yourock:

8. Dead Souls!
I love that one! Somehow I forgot about it...but then, there are only 10 slots for choices in the poll, so it wouldn't have fit! It's true, Trent really is too much of a genius for one poll to do him justice...there's way too much good music to contemplate!

His music brings back many fond memories for me of my high school years...NIN was actually my first big concert--way back in '94 at age 15! Ah, those really were the days!

9. For my money ...

Trent Reznor is both the best and the most influential musician to come out of the 90's. Unfortunately, most folks only know him for introducing Marilyn Manson to the world, but his reach extends far beyond that.

I though I'd add that he and I went to the same college ... though I finished and he was there a few years before me. He was actually offered a bid (invitation to join) by my fraternity before he dropped out.

13. Pretty Hate Machine
is a guilty pleasure. You know Reznor actually got offended when he found out his music was popular for strip clubs?
