I'm so sad - I never knew Abbott or Evita when they were kittens
I bet they were wonderfully beautiful and I can't believe no one would adopt such wonderful cats when they were kitties. Well, Abbott did have a home somewhere, but they threw him away when he got big.

:sigh:

1. kittens sure can be fun
But when you rescue an adult cat.... now that's something special.

2. Streak and Trininty just turned a year old
and my house looks like a train wreck.

All they want to do is play, play, play.

And they wreck everything in the process.

I know what you're saying, but take this in consideration.

I can't wait until those two mellow out.

3. mine just turned a year old, too.
I will be glad when they mellow.

all of my miniblinds are destroyed.

they're scratching this one spot on my sofa.

Stella thinks all doors should be open, including the kitchen cabinets. I put knitting needles through the handles, but she knocks those out and I still come home to open cabinets.

Jack is very vocal, especially at 5am. He also wants all clear surfaces. No phones or lipstick sitting on his coffee table. He will bat them across the room like a hockey puck.

and if I yell at them, they just yawn and continue their behavior.

they're so cute.

5. Aren't your kitties part Turkish Angora?
my Peewee was half Turk, and he was wildly playful until just a few months before his death at age 15. My current kitten Puck is pure Turkish Angora; her mom's name is "Firestarter" because she races around the house so fast it looks like she could start a brush fire!

Kittens are a blessing, but adults are every bit as loving-and generally less destructive (unless they're a Turk)!

8. Female is Turkish Angora, while Male is mixed with American
Shorthair.

But Male has some of the traits, like the longer coat and big fluffy tail.

She's a real sweetie, but such an imp- TOTALLY lives up to her name! She's about four months old there, and seven months now. Here's a recent pic:

still a lot smaller than her buddy Oberon!

Here's a photo of my beloved Wee. I miss him so

Kitties; what wonderful company they are!

overwhelmed with kittens. Overrun with kittens. Would Abbott or Evita like a baby brother or sister? Or 2?

14. I have a few pets myself
I wonder what they looked like when they were babies and where they came from.

I picked them off of the streets and gave them a home. I wish I knew what kind of a Dog I have or what kind of a Cat my one cat is.

So many unpleasant ones are popping up elsewhere. It's nice to have a bit of distraction.

17. I may be getting another kitten soon. . .
I think Quinn is lonely, so I'm gonna start the kitten hunt after I finish moving into the new place next week.

I figure I'll give Quinn a week or two to get used to the new digs before I drop another furball on him though.

I know he needs a playmate though, he's so "starved" for attention (despite the amount of time I spend waiting on him hand and foot on a daily basis).

check the Humane society website; they have a great article on successfully introducing a new pet. Also check out www.petfinder.com during the kitten hunt!

There were 4 month old when we got them. But their foster mom gave me pictures and the whole 411 on their mama and daddy and how there were as kittens.

25. early kittyhood
I can certainly understand that feeling, LynneSin. They are our "fur babies" and I think it's only natural to want to know everything about them.
