Question on Canadian politics
We're going to Vernon, BC for a wedding in July.

Is BC generally more conservative than the other provinces?

Do Canadian conservatives tend to like/support Bush*?

Will get my ass kicked if I wear my "If you can't say anything nice about George W. Bush*...
Sit next to me." 'T' shirt, or will they buy all my drinks?

Thank you.

1. I don't know about B.C.......but I doubt that.....
they are that conservative. Oh, sure, there are some places where some people are more conservative, but I wouldn't worry. Conservatives generally are pretty normal and decent folk up here.;)

No, you won't get your ass kicked. Not only will they buy you drinks, I'm sure they even could all chip in for your airfare. ;) :toast:

(My dad and grandpa are conservatives, and they HATE Bush):nuke:

3. I don't think you'll have to worry about it too much...
Alberta is much more conservative than BC, and I don't think Bush is all that popular there. Now I only lived in BC for a year and lived in Alberta for 21 years...so I might not be the best judge of BC, but yeah generally I don't think you'll have a hard time in BC (as long as you're not trying to get loggers to stop clear cutting old-growth).

Lots of good fruit in BC though. Also very very potent marijuhuana...if you're so inclined.

Be sure to check out some of the more popular micro-brews, Shaftsbury Cream Ale was always a favorite of mine...

4. BC is pretty liberal really...
considering the Mayor of Vancouver wants to leaglize pot and tax it to pay for hard drug problems.

7. Thanks all. Only my second trip to Canada.
The first was over 30 years ago. Short fishing trip north of International Falls.
