What INfamous people came from your state?
What nasty slimeballs can you think of from your state?

I can think of two offhand, from here in Wisconsin:

Senator Joe McCarthy

Ed Gein

(No, Jeffrey Dahmer was from Ohio.)

5. Apparently, Ted was quite intelligent.
As well as handsome, gregarious, and a rising star in the Washington State Republican Party.

He just had that one unfortunate problem...

Although I'm basically opposed to the death penalty, I'm pretty sure Ted is burning in hell right now, and that's okay by me. What a monster.

60. I would gladly have Packwood instead of Gordon Smith
Personally Packwood was a sexual predator, but politically he was reasonable - pro-choice, for example, and I can't imagine him voting for the fundie agenda. Not like Smith who seems to be a reliable toady but doesn't grope women in elevators. Smith is fucking a lot more of us than Packwood ever dreamed of.

34. Woodrow Wilson (Gov of NJ even though he was born in VA). Hypocrite.
He promised to keep this country from becoming involved in the European war theatre in 1916 in order to get elected (slogan: "He Kept Us Out of War") and then promptly commenced a draft the next year for the justification of making the world "safe for democracy". Americans lost their jobs and faced societal shame for not signing up for the draft and/or not buying war bonds.

Hmmmmmm. See a pattern? Seen the same movie lately?

48. Help me out...How many serial killers from Washington State are there?
Edited on Tue May-25-04 09:48 AM by m-jean03
What I'm trying to remember, is who was that guy caught a few years ago, who was married & had kids, but also had this nasty habit of killing young women and burying them in his back yard?

The DC snipers lived in my town for a while, my dad even worked out with John Muhammed at the local YMCA.

There was the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgeway.

And Kenneth Bianchi (the hillside strangler), while not exactly FROM here, left 2 of his victims TWO BLOCKS from where I live...:scared:

Bianchi made use of his position as a security guard to gain the confidence of Western Washington University students Karen Mandic and her roommate Diane Wilder. He asked the girls if they would agree to house sit for him and his wife. Shortly thereafter, when Karen's boss didn't hear from his employee, he began to worry. Karen had been reliable and it wasn't like her to miss work without calling in first.  Furthermore, her boyfriend had not heard from her since she had told him about her house-sitting job.  The Bellingham police were called in to investigate the missing person's case.

January 12th, 1979: the bodies of 22 year-old Diane Wilder and 27 year-old Karen Mandic were found in the back of Mandic's car; both show signs of strangulation and ligature marks.

:scared:

58. John Wilkes Booth
--snip--
All of the Booth children but one, were born out of wedlock. John Wilkes Booth was born on May 10, 1838 in a log house. The family home was on property near Bel Air, Maryland, twenty-five miles south of the Mason-Dixon line. Elder brother Edwin supervised his younger brother's upbringing. Later Edwin and older sister Asia would write about their eccentric brother's behavior.
