can't chose between 'em.

They both were great, yet very different.

4. I preferred one. Some of two's speechifying struck me as lame

But it's a hard choice--the end of the fight between Uma and Daryl Hannah was brilliant. :D

5. exactly...
it was SO unexpected, so funny, so vicious, so just-what-I've-always-wanted-to-do-to-Darryl-Hannah-myself.

3. Vol 2
Edited on Tue May-25-04 11:45 PM by FDRrocks
There was alot more substance to it. I have seldom felt for a character as I have for Budd, which is especially odd since he is one of the antagonists of the film.

I did love the action in Vol 1 but I think Vol 2 made for a much better movie experience.

No doubt it will be kick ass when they release a DVD of both of them as one movie. The grapevine at rottentomatoes.com says that Tarantinos going to edit the film chronologically. If he does it right it will be a long, satisfying film.

On the other hand Quentin can still eat my ass for making me pay twice to see one movie. :)

on edit: Have any of you guys been inclined to watch some one the Japanese explotation films that Quentin accredits as an inspiration for this film? I've been trying to find copies of Takeshi Miike's work to view. The only one I've found thus far was "Audition", but I'm still looking for a video store that carries "Ichi the Killer". I also hear "Battle Royale" is good.

6. Knowing his nostalgia factor, I wonder if he planned to bring back serials
What with the chapter breakdown and all.

8. 2 sucked ass
First hour was great...after that...no killing for 40 minutes, and I got tired of hearing Bill's lisp during the inane dialogue.
