Drunk Posting vs. Baked Posting
Ok....now that (most of us at least) are good and sober.

Here's how to tell the difference...

Drunk Posting:

Djammm i just didd 20f uking
yaaaaager! wooo hoo bomobs

Baked Posting:

Hey :) I'm naked.

Then ...an hour later we have another entry

Drunk Posting:

WOO HOO mfdsop ofor JaaAAaaaaAAAAGGGER!!! Whoolsfd;

Baked Posting:

I never really saw what Sid and Marty Krofft were trying to say, but now I get it. We're all the dragon, you see - HR Pufnstuf? He represents mankind. The flute is our sexual identity, and Jack Wild is our inner child. The witch represents our darker nature, trying to stifle our sexual side.

Then...yet another hour later...

Drunk Posting:

Awwww...everyone HATES me!!!! WHY AM I SO UNLOVEDDDD????? I need more Jager...

Baked Posting:

OK...I think I have it clearer now...HR Pufnstuf represents the Democratic congress of the 70's, and witchiepoo represents the nixon administration...and Jack Wild is the voter. His flute is still his penis.

Then the next day:

Drunk Posting:

I am Sooooooooooooooo sorry for posting all that last night! Oh I feel like such a heel...

Baked Posting:

Wake and bake baby!!!!

8. Man... don't even joke about that shit! I dreamed about Homeland Security
being after me night before last! It was a scary freakin' dream!!! It was like a major action-adventure movie, with bullets flyin' at me, and cars crashing and all... but at least I had a sexy liberal guy helping me escape...

100% true... wildest and most vivid dream I have had in years!!!LOL

3. Is it OK to post when one has PMS and is totally torked about the neighbor
kid getting killed in Iraq?

cuz I am in a really really pissy mood. Good thing gas is too high for me to drive across the country to D.C. or I'd have a few DOD idiots by the ear lobes while I 'splained a few things to 'em!!!

Wish I could do baked but can't do chemicals.
Never been drunk. Anybody give lessons?

Under those circumstances.

I know I'm not going to get in the way.

12. LOL, I just wrote about posting with PMS
If it ever seem to anyone that about once a month, my attitude drops from sweet and slightly flirty Sarah, TO-> Sarah, the low self-esteemed nutcase who posts too many of her problems, it's no accident, it's my raging hormones (in a bad way that is). :(

A little better now. :)

At least it's an interesting ride. :)

5. My drunk postings are more like the baked postings
I'm a functional alcoholic. I don't feel right until I've got a few in me and really don't start feeling good until after a six pack. But then again I really don't get drunk. Just happily buzzed.

Now I have a friend who'll take four Xanax and smoke three bowls and he's nearly incomprehensible.

7. It really mellows you out
Especially if you take a bunch of them, which you're not supposed to do. I've never taken them before, but my friend describes it this way. After you take them nothing can bother you. You just get really calm and I think there is a head buzz that goes along with it if you take a bunch. My friend buys them on the street for $3 a pill.

I think Xanax are usually prescribed for people with anxiety disorders or who get panic attacks.

16. Be careful with them. I took 2 Xanax once
and proceeded to drink a Margarita in a local cantina at 4 PM. The next thing I remembered was waking up in my bed at 12:30 PM the next day. I had absolutely no idea how I got there. Apparently I was pretty entertaining, according to some friends. I fell into a campfire (but was quickly pulled out so I did not get burned) and gave my hat away.

When I asked a friend what I had done on my little "adventure", he looked at me solemnly and said, "Ya know....everybody gets to be an asshole once in a while".

That was my first and last experience with Xanax.

17. I'm always super careful
Plus, I have a super-sensitivity to almost all drugs.

It's great because I can get high on a fraction of the amount it takes most people, but I do have to be careful with amounts.

10. They're perfect for really long flights.
For example, when flying from the east coast to Paris, order a glass of wine as soon as they offer one, take one Xanax, and you'll wake up at Charles de Gaulle, jet-lag free.

One Xanax absolutely knocks me out... I know it's popular recreationally, but it's like a punch-out sleeping pill to me.

14. Nothin' like a good 'zannie' nap.
You wake up feeling refreshed and happy, not too groggy like sleeping pills.

21. I take it if I have a panic attack
I've taken it a couple other times where I feel my anxiety rising but I know that I am in physically safe situations, like dinner with my in laws. It is pretty much a guarenteed relaxed feeling. I find that aspect similiar to pot except that it is completely predictable. You should never take them with alcohol. That is a contradiction that can lead to comas and death. They are also highly addictive. I average about one per month so I am not concerned but my mother-in-law takes a few per day and has for years under the full uenabling by her doctor. For a severe attack that just wouldn't go away, I had two and it caused me to forget everything that I encountered for the next hour while I was awake and then fall asleep. When I take one, I feel more impaired than I do high.

22. It is difficult to tell my impairment
Sometimes when I am impaired, my posts are as good or better than when I am sober. They are more likely to be short and choppy sometimes though.

23. I am always impaired!
With all of the medication I take to control chronic pain I don't think I've drawn a straight breath in 10 years.
Soma
Vicodin 10
Fiorinal
Vioxx
Oh, and let's not forget the 25 mg of elavil the doctor prescribed to help me sleep at night. As if 25 mg is going to do much of anything! Oh well, it makes the doctor happy if I take it.

24. So Taverner, how would you define an absinthe post?
It's not like being drunk, but it's not exactly like being baked either...kind of in-between.
