and sharpen their smiles
and amuse themselves, playing games for awhile,

6. Ninth circle, very bottom, plugging the hole
and chewing on three people.

Though I hope he's stuck in the ice with the wind blowing icy shards into his face with neverending relentlessness. Is that the traitor's punishment? I know it's ninth circle, but it's ten years since I've read the book, so I can't remember for sure.

7. Just read part of the Samyutta Nikaya (part of the Buddhist canon)
Actors/Actresses go to the "laughing torment" hell.

Seriously.

An actor in an actors' guild came and told the Buddha that he'd heard that practitioners of his art when leaving this world go to a celestial world full of laughter. He asked the Buddha if this was true. Buddha said: "You don't want to know". The actor repeated his question. The Buddha said: "Really, don't ask me that." The actor asked a third time so the Buddha according to custom had to answer. "Actors go to the tormenting laughter hell where demons torment them and laugh."

Something like that; I'd look it up, but the book is some 2000 pages. Good actors, bad actors, all the same. "Original" Buddhism has some harsh after-life stories.

At least the hells in Buddhism aren't eternal.

Of course, after he burns off his "actor" karma there's still all the worse nasty karma of being a leader of a country that misuses his power to bring misery to people. That'll be much worse than even Dante imagined (or borrowed from Buddhism, as some think).
