1. Was he right on with 'Imagine' or fucking what?
Most prolific lyrics to a song ever!

Then Bohemian Rhapsody!

2. Have you ever heard
of the tribute to George Martin CD, In My Life? Buncha celebs and some actual musicians covering Beatles songs. I loved the version of Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End that Phil Collins does, but the rest is "Golden Throats" level...

He was charitable, but he left a widow and young son behind.

19. John Lennon wasn't always a multimillionaire.
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 07:03 PM by BlackVelvetElvis
He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Plastic Ono Elephant's Memory (POEM) .... in those days, Lennon played with my old friend David Peel (of D.P. & the Lower East Side Gang). It was a strange time.

26. Working Class Hero
is a great song. It's Imagine without the sugar-coating, according to John. Another great song is Luck of the Irish.

28. To each his/her own.
I accord everyone the right to like whatever type of music they want, without feeling any need to insult it. However, I will comment on an insult made regarding John. Saying things like the song is not good, because John was rich when he wrote it, shows a lack of insight. A group like MoveOn.Org is "rich" compared to individual DUers. Does that compromise their message? (republicans think so!) In many, many cases, it takes a great deal of money to create social changes. A friend once commented on Gandhi that "it took a fortune to keep him in poverty." John made a lot of money, because so many people bought his albums. One could conclude his music was pretty darned good.

I agree with what your comments that are stated here.

My first reply to you was kind of a tongue-in-cheek remark if will, just made about previous posts... that's all.
