This was my morning belly laugh of the day.
I read this and almost fell off my chair laughing.

"Missionary lizards??!!??" :wow:

Christian dinosaur hunters dig for signs of Biblical dragons
By Marcus Warren in Keldron, South Dakota

(Filed: 19/06/2004)

Countless dinosaur bones lie buried in the rocks of South Dakota but the Christians excavating one remote cliff-face were digging not just for reptilian vertebrae but for the hand of God.

With screwdrivers, hammers and shaving brushes for tools, the group was seeking and, as far as it was concerned, unearthed proof that the animals perished not millions of years ago but in Noah's Flood circa 2300 BC.

Russ McGlenn who runs 'Creationist' dinosaur digs
To these believers in the Bible's literal truth, they are not dinosaurs but "missionary lizards", which are powerful weapons in the battle for young American hearts and minds.

1. I'm Actually Glad They're Trying to Construct a Scientific Theory
It will be much easier to show how silly the creationist viewpoint.

I think Creationism COULD be a scientific theory -- not a successful one, because it doesn't fit the facts. Creationists try to diminish evoutionary theory by emphasizing the word "theory", but creationsim doesn't even qualify as a theory by that standard -- it's just a bunch of people sitting around and bullshitting.

2. It's still frightening how many people buy into this tripe.
Conveniently ignoring the fact that the same "theories" used to carbon-date things are responsible for many of our modern luxuries. So as they look at their super-accurate digital watch powered by the theory of radioactive decay, the say that carbon-dating techniques using the same science are flawed. This type of pseudoscience is absolutely terrifying.

3. Because it scares the shit out of them.
Science tells them their pet belief in the "totally accurate Bible" is a full load of crapola.

So they stick their fingers in their ears and scream "LALALALALALA!"

4. LOL - reminds me of the local bible study group using Star Trek
episodes to inspire discussions about Christianity. I guess they didn't realize that "Humanist of the Year" Gene Roddenberry nixed the idea of having a chaplain on the Enterprise and stuck to secular humanist themes.
