Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 08:09 PM by HypnoToad
I just tried one and it recordered 0. Nada. Zilch.

If I'm not burning fat, what's causing my weight loss? I can think of one thing...

:scared:

I will profess my ignorance here... :-)

2. Well, my diet isn't technically Atkins (I hope) so I shouldn't expect it

(ketosis) to happen.

I just want the fat gone.

And not by the means of Diabetes Type 1 or HIV. O8)

(essentially 8 pounds in one month. 2 pounds per week. I suppose it's not a too rapid weight loss, Atkins' diet suggests 15 pounds can be lost in 2 weeks! :wow: Now THAT is rapid weight loss and definitely not healthy!)

3. Ketone strips
only work if you are in ketosis at least part of the time. For instance, I'm not in it 24 hours a day, mostly like a 1/3 of the time.

The degree of weight loss while on induction is indicative of the amount of insulin resistance the person has. Heavy weight loss at the end of two weeks suggest high insulin resistance. 6-10 lbs is more common.

4. 2 lbs a week is fantastic------
Even if it drops to 1 lb a week.

At 1 lb a week you can lose 50 lbs in a year, which is great.

My mother always said"Slow and steady wins the race".
