3. I don't much care for that model.
But there is one little coupe that has a lot of standard features and isn't too expensive. It's the tc.

5. Saw a bunch today
at the local dealership while getting the oil changed on my Tundra. I think they look... sinister.

I'd get one in a heartbeat.

8. Budget bling bling for the energy/dollar wise
Carries lots of kids to school, they are cheap, and you can buy custom parts for em.

9. I must say it grows on you
I hated them at first, too. But drive one, and it all goes out the window. Base price of $14,000, with gas milage in the mid 30's adds up to one rockin' vehicle. Add a cold air intake, sport exhaust, fog lights, and spoiler, and you're well on your way. There's a lot more room inside than you'd think just by looking at it.

Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful!

11. I would think the wind noise alone would be bad enough.
I wonder how loud it is at 50mph+. Not exactly aerodynamic.

12. s'ok. It's the gawd-awful load of marketing that's going into the Scion
line that I don't like.

It's not so much personalized as the personalization that people used to do to their cars has now been commodified, price-pointed, marketed and sold as "the car built personally for *insert name up to 20 characters here*".

That's what disturbs me about the Scion line. Mods used to be something that took thought and an understanding of your vehicle. Now... you fill out the bubble sheet and get it back in a month.

It sucks to know that I LIVE in Pattern Recognition.

Pcat

13. A truly AWESOME machine.
Despite its appearance (called "the box" by dealerships), the Toyota xB Scion is the most wonderful car to hit America to date. It was big in Japan for a while and here's why:

Mileage:
32 mpg in city
38 mpg highway

Safety:
VSC antilock brakes
driver/passenger airbags (side curtains optional)

Also comes equipped with a top of the line Pioneer sound system, six speakers for those of you who love music while you drive.

I know all of this because my boyfriend is buying one. He test drove it with me and his family there, and there's something about the car that really makes you feel safe. Not to mention that it rides smoother than any big car I've seen to date.
Amazing buy, starting at only $14,500. With that kind of gas mileage and the great durability that Toyota has shown, how can you go wrong? The rest of the world has always been far ahead of us.

16. They're actually super-cool when you see them
I was all over them at the auto show this year (and last). They're amazingly well designed and ergonomic.

They are also much cooler looking in person. Personally, I'm sick to death of every fucking car looking exactly the same, and all of them the Ford Taurus. :eyes:. The Scion allows you to customize quite a lot to your own tastes and there are a ton of after market parts already. Its a serious cult car.

To me, any bland looking Saturn or Ford is an abomination. The homogenization of design completely bores me. If more Scions, Azteks or Elements don't come along, soon we'll all be driving the exact same car, available in Silver, Black, Red or White (no exceptions please). It will be called "Car" and have a lovely bar code painted on the side for easy checkout.

17. Butt Fugly.
People are actually buying these things.

"What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?.... Oh, it looks good on you though."

And what's up with the Aztec?

Have I pissed enough people off?

:toast:

19. Love 'em!!! Box on wheels....
exactly what I want in a car. I hate the crazed American car cult that breeds massively impractical vehicles. The ScionB is an almost perfect vehicle as far as I'm concerned.

If only they would put the Volkswagon TDI engine in them so I could run biodeisel. Sigh.....
