Ahh! My mom's gonna vote for Kerry!

My mother, who hasn't voted since Jimmy Carter, just said she's voting this year for John Kerry. I just had her watch a few of the speeches from the DNC and she's on board! Ahh! I'm so excited! I've been working on her since 2000, and all I've gotten was a maybe. Thanks to Mama T and John Edwards she's sold!

She probably is, but I would make sure that she is.

You must be registered a certain number of days ahead of election day.

2. She'd have to re-register anyway,

she's moved quite a bit since the 70s. We live in Maine though, I think you can register as late as election day here, but I'll look into it, just in case I'm wrong.

3. My mother, who is a Republican, will vote Kerry

She'll be 86 by the time of the election. She decided to vote Kerry because of a letter he wrote to a little girl who had written in to Dear Abby about the possibility of a woman being in politics. She said that any candidate who would take the time to buck up the spirits of a child was the kind of person she wanted for President!
