The whole Swift Smear thing has me feeling very small and depressed.

Not that they would do something like this. That was inevitable.

But the fact that it has been trumpeted by broadcast media for two straight weeks. When the ads first appeared, I thought, no big deal. But these guys are still getting a media platform despite no evidence to their claims, treated as equal sides in a controversy. I must say it has me feeling quite helpless and hopeless. I sometimes feel, what can an honest person do against all this?

I'm still somewhat optimistic about our chances in November. I guess Kerry and I will just have to get over this rough patch. We go through bitter waters to reach the sweet or something like that.

Now, someone! Do a hand stand or something! Cheer me up, dammit!

1. sorry, no good news except anecdotal

i just returned from a 10 day trip to Idaho and Utah. Went camping for a long time...i met lots of Kerry supporters, but the overwhelming sentiment in those states is pro-bush. awful.

but the news in the papers there were all horribly depressing.

this swift boat thing has me feeling down, too.

the media is the enemy.
